Has anyone seen "Summer"???  It's sure been missing here in my neck of the woods.  But really, I'm not going to complain because I love it when Spring hangs in there for a little while longer than usual.  I hate when we go from Winter to Summer, which has happened upon a time or two.  For the most part, we've only reached into the 50's for daytime highs and down into the 40's overnight.

My MIL is now at peace. She left this worldly life quietly and in comfort on Sunday May 10th, Mother's Day~with her loved ones surrounding her.   We received a call that morning that mom might just be in her final hours, she passed at 7:40 pm. I have a new finish to share, this one called "Blackbird Sampler", by Bent Creek.  It was a quick and yet, a fun stitch.  I used a piece of 28 count linen from Silkweaver, their Solo collection-and stitched over two.  It was such a nice piece of fabric to stitch on, very smooth, and my needle just glided in and out so easily.  Now why can't all stitching fabric be like that?  Tee Hee  Here are

Well, even though it seems that this one shouldn't of taken too, too long to stitch, it did!  I think it was using the three strands of thread that slowed me down somewhat.  It was a tedious job having to separate THREE strands over the normal TWO.  LOL   And then stitching over two with that pile...geesh!  I won't ever do that again.  When the designer calls for three, I'm sticking to TWO!!!

On Monday, before DH and I ran some errands, we headed to the Lake~I've been sooooo waiting to get there to see if it was at all frozen over.  Indeed, it was and the Seagulls and Geese where hangin' around too.  Awh, it was just lovely.  But, it was also horrendously windy/cold, so I couldn't stand outside the car too long to get some of these shot's.  LOL  My poor finger's felt it the most.

I thought I'd also share some of the beautifully stiched pieces which where entered for judging. I love this part of the fair~always wants me to go home and stitch even FASTER. LOL

Wow, it's hard to believe it already, but our State Fair starts today. They should have some pretty fantastic weather for opening day so that should make alot of the fair go-er's very happy. We've yet to reach our first 90* day...but it looks as if that could all change by the end of the week and into the weekend. Now isn't this just adorable? The moment I layed eye's on it~it immediately reminded me of our newborn Triplet Granddaughter's. Just look at those cute little chubby leg's! I can imagine the girls at the beach in a couple of year's, looking like the sweeties in this design. I will just have to stitch this one for their mommy.

Alot of these prints where bought at a second hand store...sorta like a "Good Will". The onething, when we bought our home, was that I didn't pay much attention to what sort of wall space we'd have~of course, I wasn't as heavily into my cross stitching as I am now, so wouldn't of given the wall matter much thought then. This is my current cross stitch project, a kit by Dimensions. It has been a slow stitch, having started it probably back in January or so. I just love taking pictures and one of my favorite places to visit and snap them is at the Lake Front-Lake Michigan. It's so very pretty year round but is more active during the summer months.
